Peter Yan is the Chief Executive Officer of Hong Kong Cyberport Management Company Limited. He leads the Hong Kong innovation and technology flagship in its public mission to propel I&T talent cultivation, industry development and integration of new and traditional enterprises, creating new economic drivers for Hong Kong.
Mr Yan is an industry leader with over 35 years of experience in the information technology industry. Prior to joining Cyberport, Mr Yan was the Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer of SUNeVision Holdings Limited, and had held various senior management positions in established consulting and information technology services companies including Accenture, Tradelink Electronic Commerce Limited, and Computer and Technologies Holdings Limited.
Mr Yan has also been active in public services especially in the areas of talent training and digital technology development, serving on the Councils of City University of Hong Kong and the Open University of Hong Kong, as a Member of Hong Kong Council for Accreditation of Academic and Vocational Qualifications, a Board Member of Versitech Limited under the Technology Transfer Office of the University of Hong Kong, a Member of the Human Capital Committee of the Financial Services Development Council, the Chairman of the Advisory Committee of the Chinese University of Hong Kong’s MSc in Information and Technology Management Programme, as well as a Member of Fintech Research Project Advisory Board of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.
As a distinguished champion of innovation and technology development, Mr Yan sits on various committees, boards and councils of prominent organisations in the I&T sector, including the Smart City Consortium Steering Committee, the GS1 Hong Kong Internet of Things (IoT) Industry Advisory Council, the Institute of Big Data Governance, and the Scholarship Administration Committee of Innovation and Technology Scholarship of the Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups, among others.
Mr. Yan was appointed as Justice of the Peace in 2017 and was named the CUHK Beta Gamma Sigma Chapter Honoree of 2020. He is a life-time fellow of the Hong Kong Computer Society.
Mr Yan holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from CUHK, and completed Executive Education at the Harvard Business School.
