The part-time GBA (HK-SZ) MBA at HKU is designed to help you comprehend, manage, and capitalise on the region’s dynamic and rapidly evolving business environment while providing maximum flexibility of work-study balance between Shenzhen and Hong Kong throughout the 2-year programme.
Overview
Designed by a world-class, award-winning faculty with deep Asian and global expertise, the part-time GBA (HK-SZ) MBA at the HKU Business School equips you with the tools and networks you need to advance your career within the Greater Bay Area. The 5-week modular structure allows working professionals the maximum flexibility to travel easily by high-speed rail from neighbouring cities in Mainland China to Shenzhen and Hong Kong while balancing their work-study life.
Modern-day professionals need to be equipped with a learning experience that bestows upon them a first-class education, real-world experience, and a deep understanding of international business and culture. Our part-time GBA-Oriented MBA programme is specifically designed through a case-based, experiential-learning approach infusing all-rounded knowledge, with the 2021-22 re-designed curriculum, elective subjects are focused on the key themes of Business Tech and Innovation Finance, Strategy and Consulting, Managing in China & Asia, Marketing and General Management. Studying alongside peers who are experienced management professionals and entrepreneurs from local and regional companies, you will learn to apply business theories and models to real-life, context-rich situations, based on actual problems that companies are facing around the world.
A series of Executive Development Workshops have been created to encourage the students to fully engage in a unique learning experience while sharpening their soft skills. The series of workshops are spread across the entire academic year and will be conducted on topics that include Business Communication & Presentation Skills, Building Your Leadership Presence and Personal Brand, Problem Solving & Critical Thinking Skills, and High Performing Teams & Collaborations Skills.

Course Structure
Part-time GBA (HK-SZ) MBA Programme Highlights
Our Asia-Pacific focus gives you a huge advantage for developing your career in this region
Courses will include a combination of studying in both Hong Kong and Shenzhen campuses
Courses taught in Hong Kong are conducted at Admiralty Town Centre, for its prime city-centre location, while courses taught in Shenzhen are conducted at the Shenzhen Campus located in Futian CBD
The Shenzhen Campus is conveniently located in Futian CBD; easily accessible and reachable – students can easily travel to Shenzhen for classes from other neighboring cities to Shenzhen and Hong Kong by taking the high speed rail
Students residing in China only need to spend 1 night at Futian whereas students based in Hong Kong will need to spend 2 nights during their studies
Courses are offered in a structure of 4 days (2 weekends) every 5 weeks, allowing you to concentrate on a single course and minimising travelling
Complete the MBA degree at your own pace within a minimum of two years and maximum of four years

Part-time GBA (HK-SZ) MBA Advantages
The part-time GBA-Oriented MBA is offered in a structure of 4 days (2 weekends) every 5 weeks, which applies to core and elective courses. Except for students who choose to study weekend mode electives in Hong Kong, for which the courses are offered on a modular basis, with each module lasting about 5 weeks.

- An incomparable mix of study- Courses are taught in both Shenzhen and Hong Kong campuses.
- Classes are based on a fortnightly schedule, Saturday and Sunday (9:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.)
