Psychological Preparation for Work Challenges

02 Feb 2018
A core competence of the successful professional is the psychological strength to cope with stress and maintain what psychologists term, “emotional stability”. With this in mind, the Career Service team invited a clinical psychologist, Mrs. Beatrice Ng-Kessler, to talk to full time MBA students about techniques for stress management.

Mrs. Ng-Kessler guided the class to become more aware of their own thought processes, to see their own worry profiles and consider how to process worrisome thoughts. In the second part of the workshop, she covered symptoms of burnout and how to handle them. She also led the class to experience mindfulness and learn some relaxation skills. Her class encouraged students to better understand themselves, the workings of their mind and helped them acquire new skills to cope with stress.
